About The Missouri Music Hall of Fame
Formed in February, 2007, the St. Joseph Music Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in
the State of Missouri. The Missouri Music Hall of Fame was formed in 2009.
Based in St. Joseph, Missouri, we welcome all musicians and performing artists, visual artists,
sound techs, support persons and interested
parties and music lovers from all over the Midwest.

The mission of the Missouri Music Hall of Fame is to identify and preserve the ever-changing history of music in the State of Missouri and to educate its audiences.
The Missouri Music Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the State of Missouri through music and the arts and represents all genres of the Arts.
1.1 The Missouri Music Hall of Fame will identify, recognize and preserve the ever-
changing history of music in the State of Missouri.
1.2 The Missouri Hall of Fame will promote and nurture dialogue and cooperation
between musicians, venues, media, tourism, the State of Missouri and its good
1.3 The Missouri Hall of Fame will do this in a way that is respectful, friendly,
educational, and accessible to all.
1.4 The Missouri Hall of Fame will do this to promote live music and the State of
Missouri to others around the country and the rest of the world.
The Missouri Music Hall of Fame is funded by yearly membership dues and private donations.
There are three levels of membership;
$ 100 – Individuals
$ 500 – Business
$ 1000 – Honor
When you become a member of the Missouri Music Hall of Fame, you are automatically a member of the St. Joseph Music Foundation (or the affiliate nearest you).
Ballot selection is a four-step process.
1. Each year the Board of Directors of the Missouri Music Hall of Fame will assemble
Missouri Music Hall of Fame candidates, using the nominations that have been collected from
members and interested parties over the past year, as official nominees for each category to be
used as the preliminary ballot.
2. Media and other professional contacts will conduct public polls for those to be included
in the first draft of the ballot of Inductees.
3. Missouri Music Hall of Fame members and previous Inductees will choose the
candidates to be included on the final ballot. Assigns are not allowed.
4. A nine member Selection Committee will tally and, if necessary, vote to break any ties
to choose the final Inductees. The Selection Committee will be members of the Missouri Music Hall
Fame, previous Inductees and those involved in the Arts Industry in the State Of Missouri.
Inductee Candidate names must be submitted every year. Candidates will not roll-over to the next year.
Inductees are requested, but not required, to perform at the presentation ceremony.
All genres of music are honored.
Inductees are chosen for the following categories;
1. Musicians, Artists
3. Broadcast Personalities
4. Broadcast Stations
Category 7 includes Front of House, Lighting, Monitors, and Stage Hands, Art Layout and Non-Performer Studio Personnel who have had significant impact on the music industry in Missouri.
1. The Missouri Music Hall of Fame Nominating Committee will elect its own Chairman.
2. The St. Joseph Music Foundation President and the Missouri Music Hall of Fame
President, along with the Missouri Music Hall of Fame Nominating Committee
Chairman will serve as ex‑officio, non‑voting members of the Missouri Music Hall of
Fame Nominating Committee.
3. No member of the Missouri Music Hall of Fame Nominating Committee will be
eligible for nomination to the Missouri Music Hall of Fame while serving on
Missouri Music Hall of Fame Committees.
4. Electors failing to vote for two consecutive years will have their names withdrawn
from the Nominating Committee.
A written request will be required for reinstatement.
5. Nominations will be guided by the Hall of Fame Criteria.
